Restoring the Beauty in an Antique Vanity with Grey Furniture Paint

This pretty antique vanity was given a new look with the paint color, "Lazy Linen" by Megan from Lubbly Jubbly Furniture. Come read all of her tips for surface prep, painting, and sealing your furniture!

Hey everyone! We are getting spring-like weather at the moment. Well, today anyway. Who knows what it'll be like tomorrow, right? So I have to confess, I have become obsessed lately with using Country Chic Paint's Limestone Furniture Glaze on top of raw wood. I just find that style so pretty and clean looking, so I decided to do it again on this vanity. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden

To start off with, I removed all the hardware. I then scuff sanded the entire vanity as well as the tri-fold mirror, and then cleaned it with vinegar and lemon solution. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden

I sanded down both table tops to raw wood and applied three coats of Country Chic Paint's Limestone Glaze. I added a touch of water to it (just because I personally prefer the consistency a bit thinner), and used my Country Chic Paint sponge to wipe the glaze over the wood until I was happy with how it looked. I used Clear Coat to seal and protect the table top surfaces, then used BLUE brand painters tape to cover up the tops so they wouldn't get paint on them in the next step. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden

I applied two coats of white primer to the vanity and mirror, letting it dry for 4 hours in between coats. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden

Then I applied two coats of Lazy Linen All-in-One Decor Paint with my paint sprayer. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden

Once the paint was completely dry, I sprayed on two coats of my topcoat. I always choose to spray my topcoats on, but you can also use Country Chic Paint's sponges or paint brushes instead. For the mirror, I used a brush to apply the topcoat. Lazy Linen light grey painted vanity by Megan Redden
