White Painted Matching Nightstands with Stained Planked Wood
These outdated nightstands got a beautiful new makeover by Megan from Lubbly Jubbly Furniture! She built a blanked wood top to pair with the flawlessly painted bases in Vanilla Frosting. Come check it out!
Hello everyone!
It's almost December and I’ve just started my Christmas shopping. I’m a bit late to it this year, how about you? Have you begun shopping yet, or are you almost done? I think each year it gets busier and changes.
I had a customer come look at my sideboard and at the time I had matching tables. She saw them and asked if I would paint them for her. We discussed colours and she decided on Vanilla Frosting with espresso wood tops.
I got started right away on them. First I sanded each table so they were de-glossed and scuffed. I then cleaned them with a vinegar and lemon mix. I primed the tables with two coats of primer because I knew this was a light colour that was being used.
Once I had done two coats of primer, I started to paint. I did about 3 coats of paint to be sure I had good coverage. I painted the hardware while the paint dried. The legs that I had ordered were raw wood so I painted those as well.
I also made wood planks underneath so that I could attach the legs. These tables didn’t come with legs so I pre-ordered them.
Once they were on I made the tops and stained them in Espresso stain, then sprayed the entire pieces with varnish.
Once that was done I attached the hardware, and that was it for these lovelies!
Megan {Lubbly Jubbly Furniture}
Hi there, I’m Megan from Lubbly Jubbly Furniture. I grew up in the UK and came to Canada when I was 17. I am a Mother of 4 and married to my amazing husband – this business of mine wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for him. I started painting furniture almost four years ago as a hobby grew to a real business in March of 2018. I love to restore furniture and just starting painting canvases as well. I’m really enjoying what I do and I continue to work harder and have fun while doing it!
